Who in your building will be responsible for keeping this plan current, organising the annual review, arranging evacuation drills, and ensuring fire safety equipment is maintained? Usually the building manager, body corporate chairperson, or business owner.

Required by BFSR 2008: All buildings must appoint a Chief Warden (Evacuation Coordinator). Their name and appointment date must be recorded in this plan. For buildings with 30+ workers or >25m effective height, a qualified Fire Safety Adviser must also be appointed.

The assembly area must be clearly described and shown on all evacuation diagrams. It should be at a safe distance from the building, away from roads and emergency vehicle access.

QDC MP 6.1 Requirement: All prescribed fire safety installations must be identified and listed in the FSMP. For each installation present, please provide the quantity, location(s), and the name of the licensed maintenance contractor if known.

BFSR 2008 s.12: The fire and evacuation plan must include provisions for evacuating persons with a disability or mobility impairment. A Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP) should be developed for each identified person. If there are no known persons requiring special assistance, simply confirm below and leave the table blank.
